Fan Day at U of M

Today we took the kids up to Ann Arbor for Michigan's Fan Day.  I'll admit, I really didn't want to go at first.  I knew the kids naps would be seriously compromised, and I just wasn't really all that into seeing the players up close.  However, after spending the day up there (meltdown free!) and seeing how excited Todd and the boys were, it made me really glad we all went.  We also took Todd's mom with us, which was a big help having extra hands to chase one very excited little boy!

We left around 11:00 to head up to Ann Arbor.  We ate lunch at a great little restaurant called The Pizza House.  Their pizza was delicous - Todd and I ate an entire large pizza ourselves (Logan had one piece)!

After lunch we headed to the Big House.

We weren't sure if we were going to be able to stand in line for any autographs or pictures with specific players because the lines can be pretty long.  We were right - the lines were ridiculously long!  We walked around the stadium for a bit - Todd's mom hadn't been there since Todd was little, so she was really interested in seeing the stadium, and of course, words can't express how excited Logan was!

I borrowed this Ergo carrier from my friend Ashley, and I'm so glad I did!  I loved using it, and Brayden seemed to really like it too.  I'm thinking of buying one now, but I can't figure out how I would get Brayden in it if it was just me and the kiddos (Ashley, maybe you can help me out with this?).

At one point while walking around, we ran into the cheerleaders.  Of course we had to get a picture with them!

Once the lines opened up for autographs, they also started letting people on the field.  Logan went to Fan Day with Todd last year (I didn't go because I was 9 months pregnant), and this was his favorite part.  He couldn't wait to go again.  He kept talking to us about how he was going to play football with Shoelace - so cute :)

We got to meet Dave Brandon, the athletic director for the U of M.
Logan shook his hand :)

The line for Brady Hoke's autograph was insanely long, so we couldn't get our picture with him, but we did get close enough on the field to at least get a picture of him.

I love this family picture!

This is my favorite picture of the day!

Logan kicking a field goal!

And striking his Heisman pose!

By about 2:30 we had had enough, so we stopped quickly at the M Den to get Todd a t-shirt.  We were hoping to get Logan a new jersey for this year, but they didn't have his size.  Then we grabbed some ice cream and headed home.  Luckily, both boys fell asleep in the car pretty quickly and had nice little naps on the way home.  All in all, a fun day together!
Go Blue!  Let's hope it's a great season!

Loganese Volume #6

Wow, it's been a really long time since I've posted one of these.  I haven't been very good about jotting these down lately, not for lack of material, just simply for lack of time.   Things are definitely crazier with two on the move!  And pretty soon we're going to have to start a "Braydenese" edition - that kid is definitely going to be a talker!  For now, here are a few giggle-worthy moments from our oldest...

1.  (Jan.) - Todd and Logan were getting ready to leave to go to the car wash.  Logan walked over to Brayden, gave him a hug and a kiss, and said, "Be a good boy Brayden!"  Then he walked over to me, gave me a hug and a kiss, and said, "Be a good boy Mommy!"
2.  (Feb.) - Logan was looking at all the snow outside.  He told me that all the snow was white, so we "need to buy some black snow."
3.  (Feb.) - Logan was browsing the Toys R Us ad we had gotten in the mail.  He found a sand play table like the one he has in the backyard.  He pointed it out, saying, "Look at that Daddy!" and Todd said, "Yeah, that's like yours."  Logan responded, "That one's not frozen."
4.  (Mar.) - Logan is watching basketball with Todd while I'm at work.  BYU is playing.  Logan tells Todd that "there are a lot of white guys on there Daddy."
5.  (Mar.) - Logan has appointed himself as Brayden's official spokesperson.  Anytime Brayden is playing with something that Logan doesn't want him to have he tells us, "Brayden don't want that toy!"  (By the way, it kills me to write it that way, with the bad grammar, but it's how he's talking these days and I want to be accurate.  We'll be correcting that ASAP).
6.  (Mar.) - I'm taking the boys to Office Max with me.  We're walking through the parking lot into the store, and Logan asks me where we are.  When I tell him we are at Office Max he looks at me with the most excited look on his face and exclaims, "This will be GREAT!"
7.  (Mar.) - I've become Mom instead of Mommy :(  Logan has started saying, "Look over here Mom" and "Watch this Mom" and "What's that Mom?"  I don't like it one bit!
8.  (Mar.) - I'm changing Logan's diaper, and he's pooped.  He tells me his butt hurts.  So I say, "It does?" and he replies, "Hell yeah!"
9.  (May) - We are in the car, driving past Denny's.  Logan tells us that he went there with Nana, Papa, and Brayden to eat dinner over the weekend.  I ask what he had to eat, and he says, "A baseball pancake.  Like on Sportscenter!"
10.  (June) - Todd tells Logan that he needs to write a paper.  Logan says, "Do you want to use some of my crayons Daddy?"
11.  (June) - This month Logan began to insist on giving Brayden a hug and a kiss before naps and at bedtime.  Each time he does it, he tells him, "I love you Brayden!"
12.  (June) - Also new this month was adding some form of "I'm so happy" to many of his requests.  As in, "If you get me ______, then I will be so happy!" or saying, "And I was so happy!" when he tells people about something good that happened to him.  He stresses the word so every time!
13.  (July) - My sister was visiting.  The boys are eating dinner, and Logan looks across the table and says to her, "I'm so happy you're here!"
14.  (July) - The boys are eating lunch.  Logan is sharing his last few goldfish crackers with Brayden.  I tell him, "You're not getting anymore goldfish, so if you want to share with Brayden that's fine.  But when they are gone, then you'll be out of luck."  So Logan asks me, "Then I will go to jail?"
15. (July) - Logan is banging his fork on the table at dinner.  I ask him to stop so he doesn't scratch the table.  He says, "Then it will be itchy Mommy?"
16. (Aug.) - Todd's mom is over and we are eating lunch.  Logan looks at her and says, "You got nice boobs Nana!" (?!?!)
17. (Aug.) - We are getting in the car to run a few errands.  Logan tells me, "Your car is SWEET Mommy!"
