Disappointments
I think fall is a great time for learning experiences for little ones. I have a number of things on my mental list of what I want to do with Logan this fall, but it seems like the opportunity for each one keeps coming and going without us being able to participate in any of my much-anticipated activities. A new baby and an uncooperative husband don't help - I'm just not up for doing many of these things on my own with two little ones.
Disappointment #1 - I wanted to take Logan to the apple orchard. Todd scoffed at the idea, so we had plans to go with friends. One group of friends was planning to go the day of Logan's birthday party, so we had to pass on that invitation. Then we planned to go last weekend, but the weather and a changed work schedule kept us from going again. Now their fall festival is over and I've heard there aren't usually many apples left to pick at this point, so scratch that one off the list.
Disappointment #2 - Last night was the Rossford Fire Department open house. A friend of ours is a firefighter and told me about it this weekend. I know how much Logan likes the "woo woo" trucks and enjoyed getting to sit in them at the pancake breakfast this summer, so I really wanted to take him. It went from 6-9, which wasn't the most convenient of times, but I wanted to try anyway. Well, my in-laws stopped over, dinner was later than planned, and a slow-poke nursing baby all contributed to us not being able to go. By the time we finished with dinner it was time for baths and another nursing session before bedtime snuck up on us.
Future Must-Do #1 - Fleitz pumpkin farm. We did this with Logan last year, and I loved it (so did he)! I've already got a few mental dates planned out for this one, so I'll make sure we don't miss out.
Future Must-Do #2 - Little BOO at the Zoo. This is a fall/Halloween celebration at the zoo geared especially toward preschoolers. It's the Thursday and Friday before I go back to work, and I'm planning to take both of the kids (by myself because God forbid Todd go to the zoo) on Friday because we have doctor's appointments on Thursday. I hope the weather cooperates. If not maybe we'll shoot for Pumpkin Path over the weekend.
Future Must-Do #3 - At least one Toddler Time at the library. I got a call last week that they are starting up again. They have two programs - one at 6:30 on Tuesday nights and one at 10:00 on Wednesday mornings. Logan loved going this summer, so I really want to try to take him again. Not sure if evenings or mornings will be better, but soon I won't even have an option :(

Unmade beds drive me crazy! I've been thinking about this a lot lately since I'm actually home to see our unmade beds on a daily basis. Logan's gets made after his nap, which I'm okay with...at least it gets made. But with Todd working nights and sleeping during the day, our bed never gets made except on Sunday when I change the sheets. I hate it - it makes me feel sloppy.

Q & A
Are we surviving as a family of four?
Absolutely! I'm loving it!
How is Brayden?
Brayden is a great baby. He is so sweet, and he loves to cuddle! Caring for him is much easier than Logan was at this point. Brayden adores Logan and often stops crying when he can see Logan. He is currently going through a phase where he wants to be held all the time. I love it, but it can be very difficult to manage an almost two year-old with a newborn in your arms at all times!
Am I nursing again?
Of course. Brayden keeps me very busy, eating every two hours during the day. I'm feeling very nervous about going back to work because I will only have two breaks to pump during the day, and they happen to be only an hour apart from each other. I'm hoping that my body will be able to adjust at that point because I really don't want to have to start pumping too much before I go back (I HATE it!).
Any signs of reflux this time?
Not yet. We've had a few fussy feedings, and Brayden is definitely more of a spitter-upper than Logan was. At this point I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
How is he sleeping at night?
He lasts about 2 1/2-3 hours at night, but he almost always goes right back to sleep after nursing. I'm only up for 20-30 minutes for each feeding, so I don't even feel like I'm missing out on that much sleep in the long run.
How much does he weigh?
I'll know after our one month appointment tomorrow!
How is Logan dealing with being a big brother?
Logan is quickly turning into a typical two year-old, but he is a great big brother. He has his moments where he could care less about Brayden being around, but for the most part he adores him! Logan is fascinated with all of Brayden's actions throughout the day. He constantly tells me when Brayden is sleeping, when he is awake, when he's eating or crying, and especially when he poops! I can tell he is excited for the day when Brayden is old enough to play with him, but he is starting to understand that he's just too little right now.
How do the boys differ?
As I said earlier, Brayden is a much easier baby to care for than Logan was. Though Brayden wants to be held a lot, he usually stops crying pretty quickly after I pick him up. Logan was a crier and wanted to be held constantly too, but he cried and cried even after I picked him up. He was impossible to get to sleep and would not sleep anywhere but in my arms. Though Brayden likes to fall asleep in my arms currently, he will stay asleep if I put him down (as long as I wrap him loosely in a blanket). Logan kept me up at all hours of the night for hours at a time crying, whereas Brayden is great about going right back to sleep. I've said before I was much more uptight with Logan, and I really feel that my attempt at being more laid-back is helping. I see some of my super anal, crazy about routine, everything in its place personality in Logan, and I'm convinced that Brayden is going to be my more laid-back child.
How are the boys the same?
Both boys hate the swing! Aren't babies supposed to like the swing?! Both really enjoy getting a bath. They are both keeping me busy in their own way, and they are both loved to pieces by their family (but especially their mommy)!
How am I feeling?
I feel great! The inital recovery from c-section #2 wasn't as bad as it was the first time, even though I felt like it wasn't really that bad at that point either. I think my soreness is lasting a little longer this time, but I'm sure that's because I've been more active this time as well.
Can I wear my regular clothes yet?
Not yet, but I'm getting there. I'm still wearing maternity pants - I can get my regular ones on but they won't button just yet. I can wear my regular shirts for the most part. I still have about 7 pounds to lose.
Am I finding time for myself?
Amazingly, yes! Logan goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 and I put Brayden in his crib after his late evening feeding (usually around 8 or 8:30). Most days he's sleeping at this point, so I have a few hours to take a shower and relax alone before his 10 or 10:30 feeding, after which I go to bed. It's nice having this time to myself - I didn't get to enjoy it with Logan because I was so tired, and I was going to bed with him at 8:00! It definitely seems strange to be able to have both kids in bed so early, but I'm thankful for the break!
How is Todd dealing with being a daddy of two?
Todd is really doing a great job being a daddy right now. He is great about helping me out with Logan so I can focus most of my attention on Brayden. He really bonded with Logan over the 2 1/2 weeks he was home after Brayden was born, and I have really seen a great increase in affection toward his daddy on Logan's part. They are definitely two peas in a pod! Todd is a little bit more hesitant to jump in and help out with Brayden, but he doesn't really enjoy the newborn stage and I respect that. I appreciate the help he is giving me with Logan!
What is the best part of having two little ones?
Twice the love! Twice the hugs, twice the kisses, and twice the fun! I couldn't be happier!

Update
I know you've all been sitting around anxiously awaiting news on how our new little family of four is doing...ha ha yeah right! I had made up my mind to do a lengthy post about each member of our family and how we are adjusting, but it seems that every time I sit down to write this post I am immediately needed by someone! As is happening right now...

Loganese Volume #4
1. (July) - We are eating breakfast at the lake. Logan keeps "tooting," and we're trying to teach him to say "excuse me." So after he toots, I ask him, "What do you say?" and he says, "Go Blue!"
2. (July) - I'm carrying Logan's breakfast to the table so he can eat. He shouts, "MOVE! Mama coming!"
3. (July) - We're eating breakfast, and I hear Logan say a word that sounds like "dirtball." I'm thinking there's no way that's what he said, but have a sneaking suspicion it is. I ask him what he said, and he says, "Daddy dirtball." When I confirm (again) by asking if he said Daddy is a dirtball, he happily nods his head and repeats, "Daddy dirtball!"
4. (July) - Logan is playing with his fire hat that he got from the Rossford FD pancake breakfast. It's gotten cracked from him stepping on it, so the string that is supposed to go under his chin has become detached from one side. He asks me to fix it, but I tell him I can't. So Logan tells me that it needs new batteries.
5. (July) - Lately we've been talking about how food goes in your belly when you eat it. Logan is eating Cheerios and says they are going "down down belly," which I confirm. He asks if he can see the Cheerios and I say no because they are inside his belly. So he points to his belly button, and asks if the Cheerios are in there. I laugh and tell him not in his belly button, so he decides to put a Cheerio in his belly button so he can see it in his belly!
6. (July) - Logan is awake in the morning. I hear him talking to himself in his crib, but I'm laying in bed for a few more minutes. Suddenly I hear him yell from his room, "WAKE UP!"
7. (July) - Logan is chasing Sophie (the cat) around the house. He comes back into the family room where I am and asks me where Sophie went ("Sophie go?"). I tell him, "I don't know. Where did Sophie go?" Logan tells me she is pooping.
8. (July) - At the All Saints Festival. Todd is walking around with Logan and tells him he's going to get a beer. Logan asks, "Bubba beer too?"
9. (Aug.) - Logan is scooting around on the kitchen floor on his belly. When I ask him what he's doing, he tells me he is swimming!
10. (Aug.) - Logan is in the bathtub...ahem... exploring his boy region. When I ask him what he's doing, he says "Take apart pee pee." Hmm...not sure about that one...
11. (Sept.) - I have Brayden and Logan laying side by side on the floor because I'm changing both of their diapers. Brayden is crying and Logan looks at him and says, "Stop crying please!" (I love that he said please!). Brayden continues crying, and when I look back at Logan he's staring at Brayden with his fingers in his ears!!
